99% Installation steps
1.Before using this chain, please confirm with your local dealer whether it is suitable for your motorcycle. Ensure that you select and use the correct chain model to avoid causing damage or injury.
2.If your motorcycle chain has clip-type links or riveted components, use the appropriate tools to follow the 99% chain installation guide to disassemble or separate the old chain links.
3.Use a new connecting link to join the ends of the new and old chains. Rotate the rear wheel to smoothly engage the new chain (refer to diagram A).
4.Before connecting the ends of the chain, be sure to lubricate the chain pin of the chain with the appropriate lubricant. Apply it to the chain pin to ensure smooth operation of the chain (refer to diagram B). Depending on the type of chain, there may be clip-type or riveted-type connecting components.
Tip 1
Clip-type connecting components: Ensure that the open end of the clip is opposite to the direction of chain movement. Use the appropriate riveting tool to press the connecting plate onto the chain link (refer to diagram C).
Tip 1
Riveted-type connecting components: Use the appropriate riveting tool to press the connecting plate according to the recommended flare size and ensure a precise connection of the riveted pin head.
5.Chain tension: The chain should maintain proper tension after installation. It is recommended to have a 10mm up and down movement of the loose side of the tightened chain when the small sprocket, rear sprocket, rear frame support shaft, and 3 axes are aligned. Please note that this value is the adjustment value under no-load conditions, and different motorcycle models may have different requirements.
An excessively loose or tight chain will accelerate wear. Generally, it is recommended to have 15-30mm for regular motorcycles and a different value for off-road motorcycles.
